The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Thailand expresses its most heartfelt condolences over the passing of General Prem Tinsulanonda, the President of the Privy Council and Statesman.

General Prem Tinsulanonda’s decease is a true bereavement for Thailand. By his continuous work for the benefit of Thailand and prosperity of Thai people he has earned a sincere gratitude throughout the country and abroad.

General Prem Tinsulanonda has also played a prominent role in the development of the Russian-Thai relations both in his capacity of Prime Minister when he paid an official visit to the Soviet Union in 1988 as well as the President of the Privy Council during his visit to Russia in order to commemorate 100 years of establishing Russian-Thai diplomatic relations in 1997.
