Travel to Russia
On December 4, 2017 the Thammasat University hosted a lecture on «Enduring Determinants in Thai-Russian Relations» by a young Thai scholar Assistant Professor Jittipat Poonkham. The event was jointly organized by Thammasat Institute of Area Studies and Russia & CIS Studies Centre, Thammasat University and attracted attention of a big number of undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as professors of the University.
The lecturer scrupulously analyzed historical circumstances in which the ties between our countries were developing, achievements and problems in bilateral cooperation as well as driving forces of further development of cooperation between Russia and Thailand.
The key conclusion made by the Thai Assistant Professor was that Russian-Thai relations based on the wide harmony of national interests of both countries were characterized by resilience and pragmatism.
Assistant Professor Dr. Nitinant Wisaweisuan, Acting Vice Rector of the Thammasat University and H.E. Mr. Kirill Barsky, Ambassador of Russia to Thailand delivered their welcoming remarks at the opening of the event.
