Russian Ambassador met Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Defence

On January 13, 2017 H.E. Mr. Kirill Barsky, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. General Chaichan Changmongkol, Permanent Secretary for Defence, Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Thailand. 

The Ambassador congratulated his interlocutor on the appointment to this lofty office and wished him good luck in the execution of his mission. 

Mr. Barsky passed a letter from H.E. Army General Sergey Shoygu, Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, addressed to H.E. General Prawit Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Thailand.

General Changmongkol thanked for the condolences extended by Russian leaders, Russian Armed Forces command and other Russian people upon the demise of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. He expressed satisfaction with the development of Russian-Thai military ties and military and technical cooperation in 2016 and reiterated the Thai side’s readiness for their further expansion.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Vladimir Marchukov, Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Thailand, Colonel Andrey Alekseev, Russian Military, Air and Naval Attaché and Colonel Igor Sholokhov, Deputy Military, Air and Naval Attaché.
