On February 7-8, 2019 H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand paid a working visit to Moscow. He had talks with H.E. Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and H.E. Mr. Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
Mr. Sergey Lavrov and Mr. Don Pramudwinai discussed the state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for its further development, with due account for the agreements reached at meetings between H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia and H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand during the September 2017 BRICS summit in Xiamen, China, and also on the sidelines of the 13th East Asia Summit in Singapore last November.
The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on the topical issues of international and regional agenda including in the context of the Thailand’s Chairmanship in ASEAN in 2019. After the negotiations, they signed the Plan of consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries for 2019-2021.
During the meeting with Mr. Denis Manturov the sides outlined concrete steps to implement the agreement reached at the 7th Session of the Joint Russian-Thai Commission on Bilateral Cooperation, which had been held on December 27, 2018 in Bangkok under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Manturov and Mr. Pramudwinai.
