On September 19, 2018 H.E. Mr. Kirill Barsky, Ambassador of Russia to Thailand who is finishing his term of duty in Bangkok, was received by H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand in the Government House.
The Prime Minister gave a detailed assessment of what has been achieved in the course of development of the traditionally friendly Russian-Thai relations in recent four years. He particularly emphasized that significant progress has been registered without exception in all spheres of bilateral cooperation – political dialogue, security, military ties, defense cooperation, trade, investments, science and technology, culture, tourism etc.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence in broad prospects of Russian-Thai relations. He also reiterated the readiness of Thailand as the ASEAN presidency in 2019 to do its utmost to facilitate further strengthening of ASEAN-Russia partnership and interaction between ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Union.
H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha thanked the Ambassador for the fruitful activity in Bangkok and wished him success in his future work.
The meeting was attended by H.E General Wilas Aroonsri, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs of the Thai Foreign Ministry, staff members of the Russian Embassy, Trade Mission and Military Attaché’s office.
