On September 12, 2018 at the Thailand Cultural Center the legendary Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen” performed by the San Carlo Theater (Naples) singers opened the 20th Bangkok International Dance and Music Festival.
The fact that the symphonic orchestra was conducted by world-famous Zubin Mehta made the brilliant opening night truly epoch-making. When after the performance the 82-year-old maestro went up on stage, the audience gave him and the singers a 10-minutes-long standing ovation.
The extensive program of the Festival, as usual, includes a performing company from Russia. This year dancers of the Moscow State Classical Ballet led by choreographers Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyov will present their art on the Bangkok stage.
On October 5, 6 and 7 the theatre will perform three magnificent shows:
“FIREBIRD AND RITE OF SPRING”, October 5, at 7.30 p.m.;
“NUTCRACKER”, October 6, at 2.30 p.m.;
“THE LEGEND OF SWAN LAKE AND THE UGLY DUCKLING”, October 7, at 2.30 p.m.
Moreover, Russian artists will give an additional charity performance for Thai handicapped children.
