Record-high turnout at the Russian Presidential election in Thailand

The elections of President of Russia were held on March 18, 2018. The elections took place not only in Russia but also abroad including in Thailand.

On the Election Day, the Embassy of Russia opened polling stations in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. This was preceded by an early “field” voting – on March 16, 2018 in Samui and on March 17, 2018 in Hua Hin.

The results of the voter’s participation in the Presidential elections are truly impressive:

  • Bangkok – 497 people
  • Pattaya – 2288 people
  • Phuket – 2757 people
  • Samui – 276 people
  • Hua Hin – 139 people.

Thus in total 5957 citizens of the Russian Federation participated in the voting. Never before in history was the voters’ turnout so high.

The elections of President of Russia in the Kingdom of Thailand attracted a vivid interest of the mass media including Thai newspapers and TV Channels.
