On February 12, 2018 the Government House of Thailand hosted an official presentation of the National Human Rights Agenda.
The keynote speech by H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand entitled «Human Rights as a Driving Force of Thailand 4.0 towards Sustainable Development» was devoted to progress made by the Government in searching appropriate balance between human rights, security and development as well as to analysis of what should be done to promote and protect human rights and fundamental freedoms.
H.E. Air Chief Marshal Prajin Chantong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Mr. What Tingsamitr, President of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (NHRC), Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, President of Global Compact Network Thailand and Ms. Deirdre Boyd, UN Resident Coordinator to Thailand delivered their remarks at the meeting attended by heads and staffers of relevant Thai ministries, agencies, private companies, human rights NGOs and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
H.E. Mr. Kirill Barsky, Ambassador of Russia to Thailand was among the ambassadors present at the event.
