On November 7, 2017 a gala party dedicated to the National Unity Day was held in Bangkok.
The atmosphere of real unity characterized the gathering in the ballroom of the Bangkok “Dusit Thani Hotel” that evening attended by the activists of the Russian community in Thailand, staff members of the Russian official representations and friends of the Embassy. In his opening remarks H.E. Mr. Kirill Barsky, Ambassador of Russia emphasized that only unity ensured success of our country in the time of war and the time of peace, both in the past and today. We are successful only when we are united.
This point was echoed by the spiritually elevated songs stunningly sung by the chorus of the Bangkok St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral.
The official part of the reception culminated in the awarding ceremony. Certificates of the Governmental Commission on the Affairs of Compatriots in Foreign Countries for their contribution to consolidation of our community were received by Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), Representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand (Bangkok), Mr. Victor Kriventsov, General Manager of “Ilves Tour” company and ex-Vice Honorary Consul of Russia in Pattaya, Ms. Ekaterina Benderskaya, Head of the International Russian Ballet School “Rosinka” (Pattaya) and Ms. Irina Novikova, Principal of the “Seven Flowers” Kindergarten (Pattaya).
