On September 15, 2017, Bangkok burst with ovation welcoming the artists of the Bashkir State Theatre of Opera and Ballet, which performed the legendary ballet «Spartacus» as part of the 19th International Festival of Dance and Music.
The Thai Cultural Centre has not seen such applause in a long time. Contrary to a ballet tradition, the audience could not help screaming «Bravo! » to Rustam Iskhakov who played Spartacus right during the show.
Heroic story by Raffaello Giovagnoli, enormous power and lyricism of the music of the great Soviet composer Aram Khachaturian, brilliant choreography of the living classic of ballet Yury Grigorovich, graphic scenography of Simon Virsaladze and stunning performance of the dancers put together produced in a triumphant show – the true pride of the Russian culture. The orchestra of the Bashkir Theatre of Opera and Ballet conducted that unforgettable evening by German Kim added to the harmony.
