A very unusual tea drinking took place in the Russian Embassy in Thailand on July 11, 2017. Igor Suchkov, famous Russian pianist and lecturer of Mahidol College of Music gave a talk on genesis, evolution, theory and practice of jazz. Another guide in the captivating journey through the chapters of the jazz music history in the USSR and contemporary Russia was historian and journalist, Bangkok RIA “Novosti” correspondent Evgeny Belenky.
But most importantly the maestro accompanied by his friends – renowned saxophone player and composer Marat Yuldybaev, bassist Alexander Sergeenko (Russia), drummer David Parente and singer Cherryl Hayes (USA) performed beautiful jazz compositions. It was unforgettable!
And of course the hosts, as always, did not forget to treat the guests of the “Musical Tea Party” with fragrant tea from samovar and delicious pancakes with jam.
