On October 10, in Moscow, Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Korean Peninsula Affairs Kong Xuanyou held the eighth round of the regular Russian-Chinese Dialogue on Security in Northeast Asia. The delegations included experts of diplomatic and defence departments of both countries.
The sides discussed in detail the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia. They reaffirmed their commitment to the process of peaceful political and diplomatic settlement and the unacceptability of military threats no matter where they come from. Russia and China denounce the ongoing accelerated militarisation of Northeast Asia, which is destroying regional stability and security and may potentially result in a full-scale armed conflict.
In this context, the participants emphasised that all involved countries must work together in order to launch as soon as possible the negotiating process aimed at looking for a mutually acceptable and comprehensive solution to all problems of the region on the basis of the Russian-Chinese roadmap of Korean settlement.
