President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr Premier, friends, colleagues,
I would like to thank you for the opportunity to meet with you once again, and congratulate you on the successful beginning of this large international event.
I am certain it will be a success, all the more so since today it is very relevant, given the problems in the world economy, which can only be solved through integration and cooperation. This is what forms the basis of the initiative of China and Chinese President, our friend, Mr Xi Jinping.
As regards bilateral relations, they are developing gradually and successfully. We are glad that due to the efforts of our countries' governments – the Russian Government and your Government – we have both overcome the recess in trade and economic ties and have returned to growth. It is important for us to preserve this tendency.
I expect that today's meeting will also facilitate this.
