On 13-14th November, 2019 the 3th Meeting of the Working Group on Dry Ports was held in Bangkok. It brought together representatives of relevant ministries, transport and logistics companies and scientific institutions from 15 ESCAP member states. Representatives of Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, SCCTP of Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, JSC Russian Railways, FREIGHT VILLAGE RU group of companies, JSC UTLC ERA and Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to ESCAP participated in the meeting from the Russian side.
The Working Group members reviewed implementation of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Dry Ports, exchanged their experience of developing large transport and logistics hubs and providing their integration with major transport corridors. They defined priority areas of further activities under the Agreement – harmonization of international legal frameworks for multimodal transport operations and digitalization of transport corridors.
Working Group adopted the amendment proposed by the Russian Federation on adding the transport and logistics centre “Vorsino” located on the border between Moscow and Kaluga regions to the list of dry ports contained in the Annex I of the Agreement.
